Edgegap’s philosophy is to act “just in time,” meaning we only start game instances when players are ready to play. Some studios or game genres may need different behaviors, whether because they use session-based games or because their game binary can’t start quickly enough. For those, we implemented fleet management.
Edgegap fleet management will automatically manage game deployments worldwide, scaling them up and down and ensuring there’s always some available to serve players while controlling cost.
Some of our fleet management features are:
- Automatically creates new deployments when capacity thresholds are reached;
- Support a minimum number of deployments standing by;
- Configure & enforce a maximum number of simultaneous deployments;
- Control the number of servers running in a given region at any time;
