Edgegap knowledge Hub series
The new Edgegap Knowledge Hub series is now available! We are starting with some introduction videos on how our decision engine Arbitrium works, how to set up our no-code matchmaker in a few minutes, and how to manage an organization with multiple developers on our platform.
Getting started with Arbitrium
Edgegap Arbitrium helps studios lower latency, improve fairness, and increase the reach of game titles through the help of edge computing, making sure every player has the smoothest online gaming experience. Arbitrium is a Latin legal term for an arbitrator’s decision-making, and that is precisely what it was meant to do. Arbitrium decides the best location to deploy gaming servers based on where the players are located worldwide to provide the best multiplayer gaming experience for all. Our platform launched in early 2019 and now has access to more than 350 edge locations around the world. Learn how to get started on it in a few minutes.
No-Code Matchmaker
At Edgegap, our most important mission is to help studios build amazing experiences for their players. In this video, we’ll explore the specifics of our No-code matchmaker.
The first option is to use our no-code and fully managed matchmaker based on a custom implementation of the highly scalable OpenMatch project. This is the fastest and easiest way to set up a fully functional and scalable matchmaker using a simple JSON config file. No coding is required; Edgegap takes care of every little detail.
Our advanced matchmaker also offers a second option, which gives studios more flexibility. This version allows studios to access the Frontend, Match function, and Director components of OpenMatch to create custom rules for the specifications needed. This Advanced Matchmaker will be seen in more detail in a future Edgegap Knowledge Hub video, but if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to join our Discord.
Organization
To work in a team effectively, sharing information and builds with your colleagues is essential. In this third video of the Edgegap knowledge Hub series, you can learn how to create an organization on the Edgegap platform, which makes it much simpler for many developers that have to work on the same project. Use an Organization to manage all your applications and deployments from a single entity.
